Hello! I’m Kate, and I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a self-taught home cook and baker. I’ve been blogging in some form since 2011. Believe it or not, I didn’t always want to be a food blogger! But if the pandemic of 2020 made me realize anything, it’s that life is too short to not do what makes you happy. For me, that’s creating delicious, satisfying, scratchmade recipes that make me feel good, and sharing them with all y’all. More recently, I’ve fallen in love with gardening and growing my own food and flowers. I followed my heart and my stomach, and I’m happy it’s led me here.
I don’t claim to be a “healthy” food blogger or any kind of nutritionist, but I try to stay on the healthier, more wholesome side. Most of my recipes are inspired by Southern classics and feature seasonal ingredients and flavors. Fad or trendy diets aren’t my thing, but I do incorporate plant-based and dairy-free recipes in my rotation. And of course I love an indulgent treat from time to time. So you’ll find a pretty wide variety of meals and recipes here!
I live in southeastern Tennessee with my husband, dog, and cat. By day, I work for a marketing agency. When I’m not working, testing recipes, making TikToks, or writing blog posts, I love to be outside. Whether that’s in our garden, hiking one of the many trails in our area, or just enjoying a drink and snack on a patio, I thrive in sunshine. We’re big fans of National Parks, and have a goal to visit all 63 parks in our lifetime. So you’ll occasionally read an adventure blog post on here, too.
