Best Biscuits in Chattanooga
Who doesn’t love a good biscuit? If you ask me, breakfast and/or brunch should always include a biscuit. Or sometimes, breakfast or brunch should just be a biscuit. Fortunately for biscuit enthusiasts like myself, Chattanooga has plenty of places to enjoy a tasty biscuit, almost any time of day. Let’s explore some of the best places to get biscuits in Chattanooga.
Whether they’re smothered in gravy or topped with butter and homemade jam, biscuits are the perfect complement to almost any meal.
These are some of my favorite places to get delicious biscuits in Chattanooga.
This is by no means an all-encompassing list, but I tend to enjoy biscuits at these places the most often.
Bluegrass Grille // The first time I had a biscuit here, I knew there was something different about it that made it taste so deliciously different. Then I went back and read that their biscuits are made with half white flour, half wheat flour. It’s incredible how much of a difference that makes.
Flying Squirrel // Light, fluffy, and delicious when covered in butter and jam. Pro tip: if you have to wait for a table on brunch day, grab a spot at a standing table and enjoy a couple of biscuits while you wait. I can also confirm that Squirrel’s biscuits are incredible with spicy fried chicken.
Milk & Honey // Talk about a towering biscuit! If I behave, I can make a M&H biscuit last two days by eating one half at a time and saving the other half for the next day. That takes a lot of self control that I often don’t have. But just look at those layers!
Kenny’s Sandwiches // Kenny’s is relatively new to Chattanooga, but they’re already whipping up some delicious eats. Their biscuit is super buttery and flaky, and even better when topped with scrambled egg and cheese. I’ve also been told their fried chicken biscuit with hot sauce and honey is quite a good way to start the day.
Mean Mug // Their breakfast biscuit is what dreams are made of. I don’t really know how else to put it. It’s just magic. I always get mine with bacon. Also a huge fan of the prosciutto biscuit.
Maple Street Biscuit Co. // Okay, this isn’t a Chattanooga-specific restaurant (there are Maple Street locations all over the southeast), but wow their biscuits are good. I have a soft spot for The Farmer biscuit, with chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese and apple butter. Also, their mac & cheese is topped with crushed cheese crackers.
Frothy Monkey // When I’m in the mood for easy biscuits and gravy, this is where I go. Their half-serving is the perfect size for a quick, filling breakfast before work. Also, how can you not love a place that serves their breakfast/brunch menu until 5PM?
Bitter Alibi & The Daily Ration // I count these two together because they’re owned by the same people. Bitter’s cheddar biscuit is one of my favorites in the city, and it goes up about five levels when it’s smothered in their chorizo gravy. I don’t think I’ve ever ordered anything other than The Cumberbatch for brunch (which is that biscuit and gravy, with eggs).
I’m getting hungry for biscuits just writing this.
