Baked Party Crackers
My husband and I are big snackers, especially this time of year with football watch parties and the holiday seasoning coming up. My typical snack contributions are dips and cookies, but lately I’ve been loving these Seasoned Baked Party Crackers. They’re super buttery and tasty, come together in just a few minutes, and are always a crowd-pleaser!
I’ve always seen recipes for baked flavored saltine crackers or Ritz crackers. Those are delicious, but I don’t always want full-sized crackers for my snacks. They’re not always conducive for party snacking. Enter, the humble oyster cracker: bite-sized, takes on other flavors very well, and easy to eat by the handful. Basically, ideal for party crackers!
This recipe isn’t groundbreaking or revolutionary, but it is easy, addicting, and delicious. You can honestly make these party crackers in any flavor your heart desires, sweet or savory. For the sake of this post, I’ve done Ranch and Caramelized Onion Butter from Kinders, as they were the two winning flavors from all of my recipe testing. Some other flavors I’ve made (or think would be delicious) are:
- Cajun
- Cajun Ranch
- Truffle Parmesan (I like this brand and get it at Costco)
- Garlic Parmesan
- Everything Bagel
- Parmesan/Asiago
- Taco
- Lemon Pepper
- Chili Lime
- Italian
- Brown Sugar & Cinnamon
- Pumpkin Spice
Get creative, and if you try a flavor that I didn’t mention, tell me about it in the comments!
How to Make Baked Party Crackers
These Baked Party Crackers are so easy to make, and you only need a handful of ingredients. To make them, you will need:
- Oyster crackers
- Butter
- Your seasonings/flavors of choice
- Baking pans
- Mixing bowls
First, melt the butter. You can do this in the microwave or the stovetop. For me, it takes about 30 seconds in the microwave on high power.
If you’re making multiple flavors, separate the oyster crackers into separate bowls. Otherwise, add the crackers to one large mixing bowl. Pour over the melted butter.
Add your desired seasonings or flavors and stir to coat the crackers in the butter and seasonings. You’ll need about 3 tablespoons total of seasonings, so if you’re making two flavors, 1.5 tablespoons of seasoning for each flavor. Of course, if you like a bolder flavor, add more seasoning.
Pour the crackers onto a lined baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 300ºF for 5 minutes. Stir and bake for another 2-3 minutes if needed. Be careful not to over-bake—these crackers will burn easily!
Let the baked party crackers cool for a couple of minutes, and then transfer them to your serving bowl. They’re delicious at any temperature, but they’re best enjoyed warm.
I can’t wait for you to make these flavorful Baked Party Crackers for your next gathering, or for regular weekend snacking!
